The change of medium density has no influence on the measurement of Level Transmitter Guided Wave Radar WERD-60X Series . The change of medium density affects the buoyancy of the object immersed in the medium, but does not affect the propagation of electromagnetic wave in the waveguide body; Fog and foam have no effect on measurement. Since electromagnetic waves do not travel through space, fog will not cause attenuation of signals, and foam will not scatter signals and lose energy. Likewise, our 80G radar level meter is not affected by these factors.
What’s The Working Principle Of The Level Transmitter Guided Wave Radar?
The high-frequency microwave pulse emitted by the level transmitte guided wave radar, propagating along the detecting component (wire cable or steel bar) and encounters the measured medium. Due to the sudden change of the dielectric constant, it causes reflection and a part of the pulse energy is reflected back. The time interval between the transmitted pulse and the reflected pulse is proportional to the distance of the measured medium.

1. It can measure any medium with a dielectric constant greater than or equal to 1.9.
2. Generally used to measure media with a viscosity less than or equal to 500cst and not prone to adhesion.
3. The radar has a strong ability to suppress steam and foam, and the measurement is not affected by it.
4. Avoid the feed inlet to avoid false reflections.
5. The sensor should not be installed in the center of the arched tank (otherwise the false echo received by the sensor will be enhanced), nor can it be installed close to the tank wall. The best installation position is 1/2 of the radius of the container.
6. The meter is suitable to be installed at a quarter of the diameter of the silo, and the minimum distance between the cable probe and the rod probe from the tank wall is not less than 30mm.
Cable Connection:
Supply cable can use ordinary two-core cable, the cable diameter should be (5 ~ 9) mm, to ensure that the cable entry seal. If electromagnetic interference exists, recommended to use shielded cable.
(4~20) mA/HART(Two-wire): Supply cable can use ordinary two-core cable.
(4~20) mA/HART(Four-wire): Supply cable should be used with a dedicated ground cable.
Shielding And Wiring:
The two ends of shielded cable must be connected with earth terminal. The shielded cable must be connected with inner earth terminal directly inside the transducer, while the outside earth terminal on housing must be connected with ground. In the event of earth-connected current, the shielding side of shielded cable must be connected to ground potential via a ceramic capacitor (e.g. 1 F/1500V) in order to dampen the low frequency grounding current and avoid the disturbance caused by high frequency signals.
