How Does The Vortex Flow Meter Work?
Using the Karman Vortex effect, the Vortex Flow Meter measures flow. The fluid will be deformed by the collision when it passes through the vortex flow transmitter while traveling in parallel in the pipeline. This distortion will show up as a gas vortex. Depending on how quickly the gas flows through the pipe, different amounts of gas vortices will form. The fluid flow velocity and vortex frequency are directly correlated. The frequency of the vortex can be used to determine the volume flow by calculating the average speed of the gas passing through the triangular prism.
